With this the average hit rate of the premeir Indian Pixel Advertising site has increased to around 500 hits a day. I will come up with the exact figures later.

Renting pixels has been implemented

Today I officially launched the change in the pricing plan. Now pixels can be rented over http://www.lakhpatipage.com.

The price is Rs 10 per pixel per month. You need to at least buy 4x100 = 400 pixels = 4 boxes on the grid.

This makes Indian advertisers more flexible with placing thier advertisements. Now instead of purchasing place on the site for 5 years they can just purchase for a month and see whether they would like to continue.

I had to bring in this change since there are a large number of advertisers who enquire but find Re 1 per pixel still a large amount to pay for.

Let me know if you have any comments or suggestions.

Pixels on Rent ?

This is going on my mind from a long time.

I get many many inquiries from advertisers. Not all of them turn into customers though.

One of the enquiries suggested that I give pixels on rent rather than a one time cost which covers 5 years. This was on my mind anyway.

Very shortly, as soon as I get some time, I'm going to turn my pricing model into a rental one. It simply makes more sense.

Guys who enquire with me are the ones who have launched a new online business or a website targetted towards Indian people. They are generally small companies or students studying in university or just pure first time enterpreneurs. Obviously, they don't have a huge budget for advertising to be spent on Rediff or Indiatimes. So, they are bound to look around for affordable alternatives.

In an earnest attempt, http://www.lakhpatipage.com wants to become that alternative.

Renting would make the pricing more affordable and would also provide an exit path quickly. Suppose I rent 100 pixels for Rs 10 per month, for an advertiser to put up a decently conspicous ad would only need Rs 40 per month. This suddenly makes pixel advertising affordable to even college students who are on a short budget !

Now, if they see that they are getting sufficient number of hits on to their sites through http://www.lakhpatipage.com they can continue renting pixels. If they don't see any value, they can drop it and move on looking for other alternatives of advertising.

With this pixel advertising just gets more affordable and more flexible.

Very shortly I'm launching the change of pricing plans for renting pixels. Stay tuned till then.
